A New Idea at the Rental Yard?
Have you ever waited at the Rental Yard to find out if they have what you need in stock? Sometimes the smaller items are in the showroom, and you can see them. Sometimes they aren't. Sometimes you can see the loader in the yard that you want to rent. Sometimes you can't. At another time you might see what you want to rent only to learn it is reserved and you can't have it. Is there a better way to let you know what we have and what is available?
We think so. Cart-Away has a come up with a way to let you quickly see if the tool you want is available to rent. It's the Cart-Away Supply Menu Board. This Board has credit card size cards, each with a picture of the piece of equipment and some basic specs. The board is located on the customer side of the counter. You can walk up to the board and see if there is a card for the tool you need. If there is, you will know that the tool is available. To rent the tool, you just take the card to the counter.
There, the Customer Service Representative will scan the card and add it to your account. If there is no card for the tool you want, and if we carry that tool, the board will have a picture of the rental item that will say "see counter for rental". The item may be in the shop getting checked out after a rental and can be ready within minutes.
This program will help the speed of your visit to the office. Some tools are known by different names. You may call a cutoff saw a Wiggie. Others may call it a Quickie Saw. Using pictures the confusion goes away.
We have been involved with tool rental for many years and think this idea is a good one. The quicker you can get in and out of the office, the faster you can return to your job with the tools you need.
What do you think? Will this be a better way to rent tools?
