Does good Point of Sale Software really matter and does it get you through the paperwork quickly?

Usually when I go to a rental center to rent a tool, I have to give them my name, phone number, address, cell number, and sometimes answers to a host of other questions.
With Cart-Away Supply's point of sale system, if you are a new customer, all you need to do is give us your driver's license and credit card. These documents are scanned and the information is automatically placed in the computer system. A card from the Menu Board with a picture of the rental item you want is scanned as are any other items you want to rent or buy. Your rental contract is then automatically printed and you are ready to pick up your tools and purchases.
The computer displays the picture from your driver's license to allow us to verify that it is indeed, you, who will be charging on your account. The software can also have a list of authorized employees who can charge on your account. These security devises will help protect you from fraud.
When you return with a rental item, the computer system adds up the rental charge and totals out your bill. The result is less time waiting and more time working on your project.
Do you think a point of sale system like this will be a benefit to you? Can you think of other things in the buying/renting cycle that we can improve?
